We are starting this new decade excited and hopeful of the things to come.
But, first, we would like to take a look back at 2019—a special year celebrating Artemis’ 20th anniversary. We were excited to support the Library of Congress’ launch of their new iOS and Android apps, celebrating their incredible collections – now available on mobile devices! We continued to assist clients with their digital modernization efforts, which were in line with the Federal government’s continued emphasis on improving the digital experience of citizens. One example of the government’s focus on the issue was the IDEA Act that was passed and implemented last year that detailed specific timelines for agencies to assess their digital presence and provided requirements for modernization. With our extensive background with the development and implementation of digital modernization strategies, we were able to help our clients with assessing their digital services and identify gaps to help improve their customer experience.
Internally, our employees gave thanks to the community by participating in a school supplies drive, brought holiday cheer to three families with gifts, and shared knowledge and information through our communities of practice and TechTalk discussions. I personally enjoyed speaking about Agile Performance Metrics at the Project Management Institute’s Symposium last year. This event gave me an opportunity to mingle with industry colleagues to gain insights on challenges faced by organizations using Agile development methodology We also celebrated our company’s milestone anniversary with each other at a bowling outing, potlucks and happy hours.
During this time, we grew substantially, ending the year with over 65 employees and contract staff. We also had the honor of winning several awards for consecutive years, including Entrepreneur Magazine’s 360 List of Best Entrepreneur Companies in America, Virginia’s Fantastic 50 List of the Fastest Growing Companies and Inc.5000 List of Fastest Growing Companies in America.
We now begin 2020 with a renewed focus on our three primary service offerings—Digital Transformation, Customer Experience and Cloud Readiness—which we see as the foundational areas that every organization has to master to be able to manage their technology resources and provide the service needed for their internal and external customers. True Digital transformation requires government agencies and organizations to implement an overall digital strategy across all departments and functional areas and to modernize their infrastructure and applications. Our expertise can help organizations modernize and transform their technology capabilities. This goes hand in hand with customer experience as it is imperative to understand the needs of the end user. We believe that a UX strategy is part of a holistic view of the entire customer experience and is fundamental to the success of every organization. Lastly, our Cloud Readiness services have helped organizations migrate legacy applications to the cloud, providing scalability of resources, lower operational costs, lower risks and downtime. As cloud adoption becomes more commonplace, the next challenge will be how to manage infrastructure and applications in the cloud ecosystem.
